Dreamy Detox + Avocado

Dreamy Detox (apple, lemon, cucumber, celery, ginger) + Avocado

Apologies for the missing post yesterday which would have been entitled ‘3 Day Juice Detox – Day 2. Flailing’. Our broadband has packed up at home. Which is probably a good thing because I was not in a great place yesterday. The hunger was all a bit too much to tolerate and I will admit here and now that I cheated. I didn’t eat any actual food but I did add an avocado to the Dreamy Detox juice and I had to make an extra Super Detox Smoothie before seeing a client. I don’t think it would have looked too professional if the nutritionist passed out in the middle of a consultation. Doesn’t send out the best message. ‘Emaciated, starving nutritionist collapses at work’!

Anyway, that was yesterday and today is today. I had a really early night and today I feel great! I’m not quite as hungry, the headaches have gone, and I’m feeling quite springy, the sun is shining and the world is good! I am back on track and, because I know the end is in sight, I know that I can make it through today. Is this the ‘Juice High’ or do I have that to look forward to when I wake up tomorrow? Watch this space.

For those of you wondering why I would put myself through this (most of my friends think I am totally insane) there are several reasons both personal and professional. I’ve never done a juice detox before and having read lots about them I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I love my juicing and have felt the health benefits by just adding a daily juice to my everyday diet. If I was ever going to recommend a juice detox to client, I’d had to have done it myself first or that would just be cruel. From a personal perspective, my diet is generally pretty healthy (you’d hope so wouldn’t you?) but I still have real problems getting up in the morning, even when I’ve had a good night’s sleep (just ask my husband) and I do suffer with the woman’s monthly moods, so I just felt like I needed a bit of an internal clear-out to reset the system a bit.

I shall report the final findings tomorrow. Just planning what I am going to have for breakfast….

xoxo
